Sweet Dee’s Cupcakery in Winter Garden
I consider myself something of a cupcake connoisseur, I mean my name is Christopher Cupcakes after all. So when I heard a new cupcake place had opened up nearby in downtown Winter Garden, I ran as quick as I could to check them out.
Sweet Dee’s opened in historic downtown Winter Garden I think back in December. The cupcakery is the cutest little shop that offers a variety of cupcakes, cookies, custom made cakes, cookies and even treats for the puppies.
Sweet Dee’s even has a cupcake bar where you can pick your base (Vanilla, Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Red Velvet, Confetti, GF Vanilla, or GF Chocolate), then pick a filling (Cream Cheese, Raspberry, Strawberry, Pineapple, Chocolate Pudding, Vanilla Pudding, Coconut, or Lemon), top it off with your choice of icings (Vanilla Buttercream, Chocolate Buttercream, Peanut Butter, Cream Cheese, Cookies and Cream, or Whipped Topping) and complete your creation with a variety of toppings from the toppings bar (Chocolate Chips, Cookie Crumbles, Gummy Bears, Sour Gummy Worms, M&M Minis, Marshmallows, Oreo Cookie Crumbles, Peanut Butter Cups, Rainbow Sprinkles, Chocolate Sprinkles, or even Glitter).
The Best Cupcakes in the Orlando Area
We usually just opt to choose some cupcakes from the display case that includes options like Cake Batter, Death by Chocolate, Red Velvet, Key Lime Pie and more. Cake Batter and Key Lime Pie have been my favorites so far. My husband is obsessed with the Death by Chocolate cupcake.
Since I love cupcakes so much, I try them from pretty much any place I can find. I can hands down say that Dee’s are the absolute best I have had in a very long time. Her cupcakes and treats are now my favorite and so I’m fortunate to have her cupcakery so close by. I would even dare to say that these are the best cupcakes in the Orlando area.
Speaking of Death by Chocolate, how gorgeous is this cake? My husband recently celebrated his birthday on April 1st. While mine is April 30th. This means he gets the first two weeks of April to celebrate and I get the last two weeks. Usually we take a big trip in April in leu of buying each other gifts. We had a trip to Palm Beach planned for our birthdays this year.
However, due to the stay at home order of COVID 19 we had to cancel our trip. Matt was pretty bummed and didn’t even want to do anything to celebrate his birthday. But I couldn’t let his special day go by without doing SOMETHING! Going out to a nice dinner was out since everything was closed to do the quarantines and shelter at home declarations in place. So I thought I had to at least get him a cake.
I reached out to Dee at Sweet Dee’s and she put together this gorgeous Death by Chocolate cake with only a day’s notice. It was absolutely tasty and we may have eaten the whole thing in one sitting. Ok, we did! We ate the whole thing in one sitting.
If you are in the Winter Garden area or want to make the trip, reach out to Dee at Sweet Dee’s Cupcakery. She is still open and taking orders and making treats. She has taken measures to ensure everyone’s saftey during this time. You can even do curbside pickup on cupcakes and have them delivered through Uber Eats and Door Dash. Tell her Christopher Cupcakes sent ya!
