Hamilton’s Kitchen Winter Park, Florida
On our most recent trip to explore Winter Park, we decided to visit Hamilton’s Kitchen for lunch. Hamilton’s Kitchen is part of the Alfond Inn on Rollin’s College campus. If you are strolling through the Park Avenue area of Winter Park, it is not a far walk.
Hamilton’s Kitchen is named in honor of Hamilton Holt, who was president of Rollins College from 1925 to 1949. Hamilton’s offers rustic, Southern cuisine in a upscale but relaxed setting. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and it is a bit bigger than we had expected. The restaurant has a laid back but posh vibe, picture yummy mummies brunching while the kids color at the next table. Although, that seems to be every spot in Winter Park.
The menu is full of dishes made from locally sourced ingredients including traditional fare like avocado toast, a Cobb salad, Gulf Salmon, Prime Rib and more.
Brunch at the Alfond Inn, Winter Park
Mr. Cupcakes opted for a mixed green salad with blue cheese and shrimp. I tried the Park Brava burger which is a plant based burger topped with arugula, red onion, avocado and a spicy aioli. I also had a Cesar salad as my side. Both dishes were fresh and delicious. I would not say I was wow’ed by what we had, but they were pretty good. We both chose light and basic dishes in all fairness. I would definitely love to come back and try out Hamilton’s Kitchen for dinner, as the dinner menu looked interesting.
The lobby of the Alfond Inn is very charming and has a few lovely lounge spots where you can sit before or after your brunch. Great areas for conversations or meeting up with a friend.
The decor in the Alfond Inn lobby and around Hamilton’s Kitchen is pretty eclectic. The furniture is a mix of classic and modern while the art is pretty modern and unique.
The former Event Planner in me just loved this spot right outside of the restaurant. This would be a perfect wedding venue location. This area was full of people walking dogs and children playing in the grassy area.
All in all we really enjoyed Hamilton’s Kitchen and would like to come back to try some other menu items. It is a great spot to take out of town guests for brunch or lunch if you plan on strolling Park Avenue. If you are in the downtown Winter Park area, definitely check them out.
